SUMMARY OF POSITION

Reporting to the Vice President, Central Region, Landing Gear Division, the General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and controlling all activities of his/her site in a manner that ensures the highest possible levels of profitability, productivity, quality and on time delivery while maintaining a positive and safe work environment.

Your dynamic motivational and leadership skills allow you to mobilize your employees towards the accomplishment of ambitious goals. You possess excellent analytical skills and have a particular interest in solving complex problems. Your leadership style encompasses a global outlook that keeps in mind your obligation to the individual. Must adhere to all HD confidentiality regulations and industrial security requirements under ITAR/CGRP directives.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

 Discuss and create with his/her production team a step by step production plan.
 Assure that materials and equipment used are well maintained and utilized in a productive and appropriate manner.
 Co ordinate the activities of each department and ensure effective cross communication takes place so that plant wide goals and objectives are being met.
 Evaluate performance actuals against goals and determines ways to enhance actuals. Plans and executes improvement initiatives. Establishes administrative controls what will ensure the attainment and enhancement of these goals.
 Create and monitor the plant budget.
 Work with the Vice President, Landing Gear Division, to analyze contracts and their impact on production.
 Determine the affect of the development of new work techniques and assures we have the most up to date technology.
 Establish daily production priorities.
 Empower employees and offer them the chance to exercise their leadership and motivational skills.
 Establish and communicate objectives and follow through plans for employees.
 Hire direct reports, approve appointments, organizational changes and overtime for the site.
 Maintain a work environment that permits individual growth in a productive environment.
 Ensure health, safety and site security requirements are respected.
 Adhere to all local employment and environmental laws are respected.
 Ability to keep up to date with new machining technology and automation

QUALIFICATIONS
 Masters degree in Engineering
 10+ years in shop management (Machining is an asset)

SKILLS
 High level of accountability due to criticality of the product
 Ability to work under pressure in the completing of assigned tasks, while effectively working independently.

Salary Range: Up to $180k
