The Methods Planning team is the central organizing body that is responsible for:
1. Analyze a variety of Aerospace materials including drawings, specifications and CAD data in different formats and from multiple Companies.
2. Determine the best method of manufacture and shop flow for assemblies, composites, machining and sheet metal fabrication
3. Prepare and control all planning documents for shop use. These include but are not limited to Tool orders, Item Masters, planning, DOC control.
4. Ensure all engineering/customer specifications such as required material finishes, processing of materials and quality requirements are met and controlled.
5. Assure configuration control to contract
6. Prepare all repair documentation as required.
7. Estimate costs for new assemblies, composites and manufacturing using an engineering model
8. Obtain cost and material estimates from sub contractors
9. Collect and compile operational or sample data and assist in the development of estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
10. Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports
11. Design, develop and conduct time studies and work improvement programs
12. Develop and carry out work study and related programs
13. Develop integrated manufacturing procedures.
14. Work directly with shop floor and a variety of Departments.
15. Visit other facilities to coordinate work and assist fabrication
16. May perform other related duties as required by the company
Education/Experience:
- Equivalent 4 years high school
- on-the-job experience for 3 to 5 years.
- Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering certificate/degree would be an asset
