Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Heat Treat Operator will perform effectively, assuring compliance of customer requirements by following our policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.. As a furnace operator on our shop floor you will be treating metal components with heat for durability and reliability. Ideal candidate will:

• Control and monitoring heat treat furnaces and following written procedures on work instructions.
• Have hands on experience working with thermocouples; sensors; recorders etc.
• Possess working knowledge of Heat Treatment Specifications
• Prepares work for processing; load and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, racking parts in basket etc.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in testing – Hardness and Conductivity
• General understanding of Pyrometry
• Experience performing Systems Accuracy Tests / Check and Temperature Uniformity Surveys.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year experience in heat treating processes.
• Must be able to speak and understand the English language
• Must be able to prepare reports and interpret technical documentation
• Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and Databases is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Good communication skills, strong problem-solving skills , flexible to work rotating shifts to accommodate production schedule, must disclose any physical restrictions with regards to bend, twist, heavy lifting and long hour standing for 7 – 8 hours.

Salary Range: $20-30/hr
