This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys building strong financial infrastructure, partnering with business leaders, and improving processes. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong operational controls and scalable financial processes.

Role Overview

The Controller will lead the accounting and financial reporting function while partnering closely with leadership to support operational and strategic decisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of accounting and the opportunity to improve systems, streamline workflows, and help the organization operate more efficiently. This is not simply a maintenance role. The ideal candidate will bring a process-improvement mindset and enjoy optimizing systems, strengthening reporting, and supporting the organization’s financial growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting function including accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and project-close accounting while supervising the accounting team.
• Lead process improvements across the finance function by evaluating current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing automation and optimized financial processes.
• Support accurate and timely financial close processes and strengthen reporting capabilities across the organization.
• Partner with division and business unit leaders to manage the financial lifecycle of projects and events, ensuring accurate gross margin reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Ensure project close cycles are completed within 30 days of event or project completion.
• Develop project-based cash flow models and provide the CFO with clear visibility into liquidity and financial performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders globally to support financial process alignment and assist with global audit requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring accounting teams (CPA Designation is an asset) 
• Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach and support team members
• Strong technical accounting foundation and attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working within ERP systems (SAP and Salesforce experience is a plus)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
• Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings and engagement events, including occasional
international travel

Salary Range: $120-130k
