CNC Lathe Machinist
North York, ON ยท ManufacturingThis position we are hiring for involves the manufacturing of precision components for hydraulic actuators used on all types of mobile and industrial equipment. Actuator sizes range from small, to very large.
Specific Responsibilities:
- using 5 ton over head crane to safely load parts into machine
- picking tooling to complete the work as indicated in established programs / work packages or as required in the case of new orders that are being developed
- monitoring insert condition at machine to ensure desired finish and dimensions are achieved
- loading / unloading steady rest onto horizontal lathe to work with long parts
- collaborate with programmer to establish CNC programs
- carefully reading and/or adjusting programs at the machine control, and simulating and testing programs before they are executed
- working with and adjusting tool offsets to produce the part according to established dimensions and tolerances
- ability to measure parts on the machine during machining cycles to ensure parts are being produces as per established dimensions and tolerances
- work with colleagues in fabrication to sketch, describe and produces fixtures required to machine large and small parts
- check machine daily to ensure correct operation, and apprise management of any maintenance issues so that they may be addressed
Qualifications:
- recognized machinist training as a General Machinist
Required Skills / Experience:
- minimum 5 years work experience or CNC horizontal lathe
- use of overhead crane
Desirable Skills:
- CNC programming with MasterCam
- CNC boring mill and mill setup and operation
- CNC vertical lathe setup and operation
Salary: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
